We are pleased to be able to offer this beautiful handcrafted Rawhide rattle.
Made by Nora Long, a member of the Navajo nation.
This large rattle is approx. 15" in overall length. & has a leather loop near the top for hanging.
The rawhide rattle portion measures roughly 3x2" & has the hand painted turtle design on one side
The handle of the rattle is wrapped in dark brown deerskin leather
Seen along the length of the handle are two hand chipped stone arrowheads on either side of a tiny 1" leather medicine wheel & decorative antiqued brass upholstery tacks.
The bottom end of the handle has leather fringe with opaque sky blue & black glass crow beads and some stained wooden beads.
The feathers are antiqued & distressed imitation eagle feathers (domestic turkey) which give the piece an nice aged artifact look.
This item comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the maker with their census number.
A nice addition to anyone's dance regalia and a delightful item for any collector to own.
